Science - What is blood and why do we need it?

Today we finished our research on the blood, learning about its functions, composition and roles of each individual part. We learnt that our bodies can make over 15 million red blood cells per second, and that our red blood cells only live for a maximum of 120 days. When they die, they are passed to our faeces (poo) breaking down to give it it's brown colour - from a substance called  bilirubin!
