What are territories?

Why do we rule over other countries was a question some of the children asked today? The Falkland Islands are governed by the United Kingdom but they are a territory of South America. South America is made up of 12 countries and 2 territories. The other territory is governed by France: French Guyana.

During the lesson, the children labelled the different countries, oceans and seas found in and around South America. They then looked at their flags and a physical feature from each country.

One child brought in some rocks and fossils to share with the class as well. So interesting as some of them were from Canada.
