Maths- Decimals

Learning Objective: I can multiply decimals

This week the children have turned their attention to multiplying decimals. We began the week by multiplying decimals by 1 digit before moving on to harder multiplications. The children showed great place value knowledge throughout the week as they multiplied their decimals. Each lesson the children also worked on 'sticky knowledge' which is two questions in which the children revisit old topics such as adding decimals or fractions. This is a great opportunity to embed their knowledge further or refresh forgotten topics.

As an extension, we also looked at an incredibly challenging equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages Tarsia Puzzle which looked at matching up FDPs. The children worked incredible hard on this extension which some managed to finish without any help!!
