How does human activity impact different coastlines?

The lesson today started with the children identifying how coastline can be affected by man. There answers were: climate change, rubbish, land being built on, erosion from sea defences not being used or replaced as well as building walls or revetments for man to use.

The children were then given two case studies which highlighted how two different countries had changed their coastlines and why; Ghana and United Arab Emirates. The children read the information and then discussed how the land had been reclaimed in one and the effect on the physical and human geography.
